Definition of Ceramic Coating
Ceramic coating, also known as nano-ceramic coating or nano-coating, is a type of protective coating applied to the exterior of vehicles to provide a layer of protection against environmental contaminants, UV rays, oxidation, and other common hazards that can damage the paintwork of a car. It is typically made from nanoparticles of ceramic or silica, suspended in a liquid carrier, and is applied to the paint surface of a vehicle in a meticulous process. Ceramic coating is designed to provide a long-lasting, durable, and hydrophobic (water-repellent) finish that can enhance the gloss and appearance of a vehicle's paint. It can also make the paintwork easier to clean and reduce the need for frequent waxing or polishing. Protection against environmental contaminants: Ceramic coating can create a barrier on the paint surface that helps protect against oxidation, bird droppings, tree sap, insect stains, and other environmental contaminants that can cause paint damage. UV protection: Ceramic coating can provide UV protection, which can help prevent paint fading and oxidization caused by prolonged exposure to the sun's rays. Application Process
Achieving a pristine and long-lasting ceramic coating involves a meticulous multi-step process tailored to protect and enhance your vehicle’s appearance. Surface Preparation: The process begins with a clay bar treatment and decontamination wash to remove embedded contaminants like tar, sap, and iron deposits from the paint surface, ensuring a clean slate. Paint Correction: A 2-step paint correction follows, where swirls, scratches, and imperfections are eliminated to achieve a smooth, near-flawless surface. This step is crucial for optimal bonding and a stunning finish. Base Coat Application: Once perfected, a durable base layer of ceramic coating is applied to the paint. This foundation provides robust protection and enhances the longevity of the coating. Top Coat Application: After a 2-hour cure time, a top coat is added to amplify gloss, improve hydrophobicity, and further enhance durability. Glass Coating: Glass surfaces are cleaned and prepped before a specialized ceramic coating is applied, improving clarity and water-repellency for safer driving in inclement weather. Wheel Coating: The wheels are thoroughly cleaned and prepped before being coated, shielding them from brake dust, dirt, and grime while making maintenance effortless.
